By the side of a wood, ran a beautiful stream of water. Upon the stream, there stood a mill. The miller’s house was very close. He had a very beautiful daughter. The girl was, moreover, very shrewd and clever. The miller was very proud of her.
One day, he told the king of the land that his daughter could spin gold out of straw.
