The Old Hound
There was a hound, who in the days of his youth and strength was stronger than any beast of the forest. The hound encountered in his old age a boar and tried to catch it.
He seized him boldly by the ear, but could not retain it. The boar escaped because the hound was old and his teeth could not hold it.
His master, was very disappointed, and fiercely yelled at the dog.
The Hound looked up and said: "It was not my fault, master. My spirit was as strong as ever. I am now old and have many deficiencies. I deserve to be praised for what I have been, not blamed for what I am."
