If there is one celebration you should not miss when visiting Paris, it is the Fête National (National Holiday) of France, known in other countries as Bastille Day.
Every July 14, fireworks explode around the Eiffel Tower, illuminating the Parisian sky while fire stations welcome hundreds of guests in the traditional bals des pompiers (firemen's balls).
