Far out in the ocean, the water is as blue as the prettiest cornflower and as clear as crystal. In the deepest spot of all, stands the castle of the Sea King.
The Sea King had six lovely children. The youngest was the prettiest of them all. Her skin was as clear and delicate as a rose leaf. Her eyes were as blue as the deepest sea. She had the loveliest voice of any on earth or in the ocean. But, like all the others, she had no feet. Her body ended in a fish’s tail.
