I spent two nights in Santa Teresa, where I visited the famous thermal baths of Cocalmayo. It was relaxing to bathe in the outdoor pools fed by natural hot springs.
My next stop would be the hydroelectric station; from there, I would walk two hours to get to Aguas Calientes, the closest town to Machu Picchu.
