Batik is a traditional art form from Indonesia. It involves decorating fabric with wax and dye. This technique creates beautiful patterns on cloth. Artisans use a tool called a canting to apply the wax. Another method is using a copper stamp called a cap. The wax resists the dye, keeping the original color of the fabric. Once the wax is applied, the cloth is dipped in dye. After the dye dries, the wax is removed. The unique batik design then appears.
