Explore the fascinating history of gift wrapping across cultures and time.
Gift wrapping, a practice now associated with celebrations and love, has a rich history spanning continents and ages. It is believed to date back to ancient China around 100 BC. During the Han Dynasty, fabric, known as "furoshiki," was used to wrap gifts. In this period, wrapping was not only for decoration but also for protecting the contents. The idea of using fabrics, however, did not stay confined to China and soon took on new forms in other parts of the world.
