The Cid, Rodrigo Díaz, looked for the last time at the streets of Bivar with his eyes full of tears. His enemies, who were jealous of his virtues, had falsely accused him of stealing the king's treasure chest. King Alfonso banished him from Castile, but no one doubted his bravery and righteous heart.
