What’s it all about… that when you hear your special someone call you a sweet name it suddenly feels as if a bunch of songbirds just landed and you’re off chirping like the cute birdie that you are? Well, my guess is: these ooey gooey (and sometimes cringey) nicknames that you and your person use to hint at the closeness of your relationship. And that’s pretty cute, isn’t it? Just think about it. The nice sound of “honey bee” as a pet name is like code for saying “I love you” and “I like you” and “I appreciate you” and “You are mine” and “I just called to say how much I care.” Now, doesn’t that make your heart go pitter-patter? Anywho, if you need more of a ring-a-ding-ding for your maybe-not-so-cold heart, the vast world of the English language has a charming variety of lovey-dovey nicknames that can leave you speechless, breathless, and head over heels at the moment.
