Hmmm for today, I’m craving a Disney animated movie for breakfast, a live-action Disney film for lunch, and a Disney musical for dinner. Sounds like a menu for binge-watching Disney movies, eh?

These films, which are near and dear to your heart, are not only entertaining, but also informative. They tell stories of life and love with a magical twist. I mean what’s a signature Disney classic, without a sprig of magic, a hint of fairy dust, and a cup of happy ending?

1. La dama y el vagabundo (Lady and the Tramp)


Disney's 15th animated feature film is La dama y el vagabundo (Lady and the Tramp) and the film is based on the novel Lady and the Tramp by Ward Greene. In 2019, a live-action remake was released on the Disney+ streaming service.

La dama y el vagabundo is a romantic tale about two dogs: a golden pedigree Cocker Spaniel named Lady and a stray mutt called Tramp. Lady is owned by Jim Dear and his wife, Darling. Under the lovely couple’s care, Lady has been living the ritzy life. But things start to change when Lady’s owner has a baby. As a result, she finds herself on the streets, befriending Tramp. And the romance between Lady and Tramp begins to blossom, but circumstances try to keep them apart.


2. Vaiana (Moana)

Vaiana is an animated Disney movie, which is also known as Moana or Oceania in other places. The movie features original songs written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mark Mancina, and Opetaia Foa’i. In December 2020, it was announced that a series based on the movie would be released in 2024 on the Disney+ streaming service.

Vaina is a story about a brave young heroine who embarks on a daring journey to save her people.Throughout her quest, she encounters Maui, who assists her in completing her mission. The two of them start their journey together, navigating the seas and fighting monsters, and in learning that with faith and perseverance nothing is impossible.


3. Hércules (Hercules)

Hércules is an animated musical comedy based on the Greek mythology story of Hércules, the strong and powerful son of Zeus. In April 2020, Walt Disney Pictures was said to be working on a live-action version of the film.

Hércules is the son of the mighty god Zeus, who has been transformed by Hades into half-god and half-mortal. As a result, Hércules still maintains his godly strength as he was raised on Earth. Hércules is unsure of his place in the world. But he has been told that if he can prove to be a true hero on Earth, he will become a true god back on Mount Olympus. With the help of his sidekick called Philoctetes, Hércules must learn to use his mighty strength and defeat Hades.


4. Buscando a nemo (Finding Nemo)

Buscando a nemo (Finding Nemo) was the first Pixar film to win the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. In 2012, the movie was released again in 3D format and the American Film Institute named it as the 10th greatest animated film ever made.

Two clownfish, Marlin and his son Nemo, live in an anemone in the Great Barrier Reef. Marlin is extremely wary about Nemo, and he always advises Nemo not to swim too close to the surface or else bad things will happen. One day, Nemo swims too close to the surface. Right away, he is captured by a diver and taken to a dentist office. Now, Marlin is on a mission to find Nemo, joined by Dory, a blue tang fish.


5. Bichos: Una aventura en miniatura (A Bug’s Life)

Bichos: Una aventura en miniatura is the second animated movie produced by Pixar. Aesop's fable called “The Ant and the Grasshopper'' served as the inspiration for the film.

Every year, a colony of ants is forced to collect food for the mean and greedy grasshoppers. But when Flik, an innovative ant, mistakenly destroys the food stocks used to pay the grasshoppers, everything changes. To make up for the missing food, the grasshoppers are now demanding twice as much food. Now it's up to Flik to find warrior bugs and save the colony. Instead, Flik encounters a group of circus insects.


6. El diario de la princesa / Princesa por sorpresa (The Princess Diaries)

El diario de la princesa, or Princesa por sorpresa in other places, is a coming of age, comedy drama movie adaptation of Meg Cabot’s book titled The Princess Diaries. In 2014, a sequel called The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement was released and speculations of a third movie installment have been circulating since 2015.

The movie follows Mia Thermopolis, a San Francisco teenager, who has no idea that she’s a real-life Princess of Genovia. Suddenly, Mia’s life is turned upside down with the arrival of her grandmother, the Queen of Genovia. And now, she is learning the royal ways on how to become the next crown princess of the small European country. Not only that, but Mia must decide if she would claim the throne as an heir to the crown or continue her ordinary life in San Francisco.


7. Un chihuahua de Beverly Hills (Beverly Hills Chihuahua)

Un chihuahua de Beverly Hills is the first part of the Beverly Hills Chihuahua series. The film's second sequel was released in 2011, followed by the third sequel in 2012

While her aunt is away in Europe, Rachel is enlisted to care for Chloe, a pampered chihuahua from the posh part of Beverly Hills. Even though she’s living the high life, Rachel can’t help herself from taking a quick trip to Mexico for the weekend, of course taking Chloe with her. During the trip, Chloe becomes so sick of Rachel's partying that she decides to return home herself. On her way home, Chloe unfortunately gets lost. But she meets other dogs like Papi and Delgado who help her find her way back home.


8. Programa de protección de princesas (Programa de protección para princesas)

Programa de protección de princesas (Programa de protección para princesas) is a Disney Channel Original Movie that starred Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. The DCOM won the Teen Choice Awards in the summer of 2009.

Princess Rosalinda’s country has been invaded by an evil dictator, so she has to flee her country immediately. For this reason, the Princess Protection Program takes her into custody and moves her to rural Wisconsin, where she is taken care of by General Mason. As part of her transition to her new lifestyle, Princess Rosalinda must attend the local high school and learn to act like a normal teen, with the help of her new friend, Carter.

Sky High is a live-action Disney superhero comedy film developed by the creators of Kim Possible and Paul Hernandez. Fun fact: the film was also distributed on VHS through Disney Movie Club, making it the last live-action Disney VHS film.

Will Stronghold is the son of two superheroes and he attends Sky High, a superhero high school. However, Will is lacking any super powers, so he’s placed in a sidekick class with his friends. But as soon as Will’s super strength kicks in, he’s switched to the superhero class where he learns survival skills and the importance of family and friends.

Las crónicas de narnia: el león, la bruja y el ropero is a fantasy movie based on the 1950 novel, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, by C.S. Lewis. The film was the first in a series, followed by three additional films grossing a total of $1.5 billion worldwide.

During World War II in London, four siblings (Peter, Susan, Edmund, Lucy) are sent to the countryside for safety under the care of Professor Kirke. While the siblings are there, Lucy discovers a large wardrobe that takes them to the enchanted kingdom of Narnia. In Narnia, there lives Aslan and other enchanting creatures. With the help of the mighty Aslan, the four siblings lead the kingdom to a war to fight the evil witch. "
