The days leading up to your well-deserved holiday to Vietnam can seem so packed. And I get it! There are so many things to do, like packing cute outfits, organizing travel documents, and reminding your friends and family to water your plants. With all these responsibilities, there might be one essential thing you’ve forgotten… *dun dun dun*... learning some essential Vietnamese phrases.
The good news is that you don’t have to master an entire textbook of Vietnamese phrases to navigate the country. For starters, you can just learn basic sayings like greetings and polite phrases that help you connect with locals and show them appreciation for their hospitality.
Essential Vietnamese Phrases
- good morning: chào chị (chOW chee)
- good afternoon: chào buổi chiều (chOW boo-ee chee-oh)
- good evening: chào buổi tối (chOW boo-ee toy)
- good night: chúc ngủ ngon (chOOK noo ngon)
