"Being able to see the sky is something that makes us human. Our souls have to be fed every bit as much as our stomachs," said Guy Consolmagno to Edwin Carlidge in an interview for the journal “Science”.
Consolmagno is the director of the Vatican Observatory, where a dozen astronomers observe the universe to decipher its laws. The observatory also operates a 1.8-meter telescope in Arizona.
